Care and safety
How to burn your candle well, and safely
- Before the first light
- Trim the wick to about a quarter inch and place the candle on a flat, heat-safe surface away from drafts.
- While it burns
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children, pets, curtains and anything that can catch fire.
- Give it room
- Keep the candle out of reach of cats and breezes, and leave space around it on every side.
- Putting it out
- Snuff the flame or use a wick dipper. Let the wax cool fully before moving the candle.
- When to stop
- Stop burning when a small amount of wax remains at the bottom of the container, so the glass never overheats.
Details such as wax type, container size and burn time are specific to each candle. Ask us and we will tell you what we can confirm for the scent you are considering.
